This is the first day of the rest of your lives together; today is your wedding day. You will spend a lot of time interviewing many vendors from your cake decorator to your DJ, and many factors will go into your decisions. While meeting with vendors, factors considered are talent, investment, reputation, availability, customer service, and personality. So what is the most crucial aspect to consider when hiring your wedding photographer? With so many talented wedding photographers it can become overwhelming when making your decision. The obvious essential factors that you have likely already considered is investment, style, and reputation, and all of these are very important, but not the most important. The most important characteristic, in my opinion, is the photographer’s personality.
As a Bride, you have put a lot of thought into who is going to be by your side the day of your wedding when choosing your Maid of Honor and Bridesmaids, but who else is by your side from morning to night? Your photographer!
Throughout your entire day, your photographer will be there to capture crucial intimate moments. Your photographer will be there first thing in the morning when you are getting your makeup done, mimosas with your best friends, lacing up your wedding dress, finalizing your wedding vows, the wedding day jitters, laughter, tears, the moment your dad sees you for the first time, when your groom sees you walking down the isle, exchanging of your vows, your first kiss, being pronounced as husband and wife, the first dance, toasts, dancing, cutting the cake, more dancing and finally the big exit. Your photographer will also be there to capture the moments that you were not there to see. The table decorations before everyone sits down, the altar before you walk down it, your guests having a great time, your mother and father watching your first dance, and you as husband and wife in the eyes of all of your guests. The photographer is there for you and your guest’s sides all day which is why it is so important to love their personality.
When choosing a wedding photographer remember it is most important to ensure that you connect with them. Your investment is not just about the photos, but about the experience which is why price should not be the most critical part of your decision when hiring your wedding photographer. Think of your photographer as another person that you are trusting to be by your side all day just as you do when choosing your maid of honor and bridesmaids.
