Let me start by saying that, I absolutely LOVE the engagement session! I love this session so much because it is the first time I get to really interact with the two of you as a couple, but we also do not have the pressure of the wedding day. The engagement session is not only my favorite, but it is also such an important part to feeling comfortable on your wedding day. The last time that most people have been behind a camera was their senior photos and all you can remember is that at one point you were told to hug a tree. So it is totally normal to feel nervous coming into your engagement session. So the last thing I want my couples to have to worry about is what to wear to their session.

Although, I provide all of my couples with a style guide with tons of tips and tricks, I wanted to put together a post of my top tips to choosing outfits that you will end up absolutely LOVING!

Tip #1: Choose two outfits, most of my couples will choose to wear two outfits to add variety to their images. The first outfit is usually more formal and then the second a more casual outfit.

Tip #2: From the famous words of my brother “is this too matchy match?” He was literally wearing coral pants and a coral shirt, and YES it was too “matchy match.” (And I understand “matchy is not a real word my spell check is also reminding me of this). Anyways, if you want to wear the same color it is better to choose different shades of the color, or you can pull the color in by choosing outfits with patterns and then a solid.

Tip #3: I LOVE patterns & bold colors, and find them a fun way to add extra pop to your session, but for photos if you want to wear a more bold color or a pattern it is good to coordinate the other in a neutral, solid color.

Tip #4: Don’t be afraid to dress up! If you have been wanting to wear that dress
