Charleston being such a popular destination for weddings I often do not get the chance to meet my couples until their engagement session. Although Caroline and Ryan are both Charleston natives, they now live in Columbia so I was not able to meet them until their engagement session.
Ryan proposed to Caroline after nine years of dating, they have actually been together since they were fifteen and sixteen years old. So, of course, Ryan came up with the most adorable proposal ever! He knew that Caroline loves anything with lights hanging in trees or candles, so he created the most romantic setting to pop the question. November 9, 2018, Ryan took Caroline to a beautifully decorated Gazebo with tons of candles and hanging lights and popped the question. Ryan did not stop there though, he arranged for Caroline’s friends and family to surprise her at dinner to celebrate the newly engaged couple.
They will be getting married this October at the Pavilion at Pepper Plantation which is a stunning southern plantation with tons of beautiful mossy oaks trees where the ceremony will be held overlooking the lake.
I had so much fun exploring Downtown, Charleston with them this January and am beyond excited to photograph their wedding this fall!
Here are a few of my favorite images from their engagement session.
