I first spoke to Emily and John about a year ago when they got engaged to chat about their wedding. We immediately connected, because they chose the best day to get married. Now I might be a little biased, because my anniversary was the same date they chose September 19th. As we kept chatting we also found out that Cinco De Mayo also held special importance to them, because it is when John asked Emily to marry him and it is my hubby’s birthday. Our conversation flowed and I remember getting off the phone wishing we would have met for a beer instead of a phone call because we could have talked for hours more. So when they contacted me a few days later to ask me to photograph their special day, I literally jumped for joy!
Fast forward to last month we met downtown Charleston for their engagement session, finally! I say finally because getting to their session definitely had its roadblocks, but boy was it worth it! Emily did not miss a detail she chose the most perfect outfits and then topped it off with a gorgeous bouquet from Creeches Florist and Johns’s tie was perfect, they looked like two models as they ran around Charleston!
This time though when we met for the session it was not our first time meeting like often it is with my couples because I had the pleasure of seeing Emily and John at my Annual Emma Lili Couples Reunion before the world went indoors for months. To say I am obsessed with their photos is an understatement, I am obsessed not because they absolutely killed them, but that Emily and John have hearts of gold and being a part of their day is such a blessing.
Last week, I delivered their entire gallery and I was over the moon to get it to Emily, but sadly Emily and John had one more roadblock in their plans. I was so devastated for them when I found out that their wedding had to be postponed as I literally have been counting down the days to see these two get married at Wild Dunes, but the good news is that as of today we have new date and I know that their day is going to be better than ever anticipated!
So without further ado, I want to share with you a few of my favorites from their session and send some love to this sweet couple who has handled everything with such grace and I could not be more blessed to be a part of this journey with!
Xoxo,
Emma
