Anywhere downtown is the perfect place for a proposal. From rainbow row to the cobblestone streets, imagine wandering the streets hand in hand with your best friend just moments before you ask them to marry you.
There are several different beaches you can choose from that are all near Charleston. I highly recommend visiting Morris Island Lighthouse. Depending on the season and time you plan the proposal, you may have the beach to yourself.
Schedule a sailboat cruise, where you can propose while out on the water. You can book through High Tide Harbor Tours, and they’ll make this moment memorable for you. Pack a picnic with your favorite charcuterie items and a bottle of champagne to make this memory extra special.
This beautiful spot transports you into a magical garden that is such a romantic setting for you to ask the love of your life to marry you. It’s also the scene from The Notebook where Noah and Allie row their boat surrounded by trees. After you’ve proposed, you can have your own moment like they did in the movie.
The long tree-lined drive is an iconic spot at Boone Hall. This is also a popular Charleston wedding venue, but you can also take tours. If you want to plan a surprise proposal, tell your soon-to-be fiance that you’ve scheduled a time there, and then we can surprise them!
If you and your partner are more into nature and want to get out of the hustle and bustle of the city, then Hampton Park might be the perfect location for you. Since it’s a large park, several beautiful spots are within the area. The peace and quiet will let you soak in this vast part of your love story.
A tropical escape just outside of Charleston, Kiawah Island is the perfect place to propose and enjoy the beach or palm tree landscape. If you’re coming in from out of town, there are several resorts and rentals for you to check out, and the area right around where you stay is perfect!
This is a popular location in Charleston, but with so many acres to explore, you’ll surely find a secluded spot for this intimate proposal. Like Boone Hall, this is also a gorgeous wedding venue in Charleston and can tend to be very busy on weekends. All of the spots for photos, though, are incredible.
You may have a family property in Charleston that means a lot to you as a couple. This would be such a great place to propose, as it’s already been a location that is part of your love story.
