There’s something special about a wedding at Cannon Green. The venue embodies an elegant sophistication while still feeling warm and welcoming, a perfect reflection of what makes it one of my favorite places to photograph. Allison and Brandon’s October celebration was the perfect example of that charm. Even with the overcast skies, the joy and celebration were absolutely radiant from start to finish.
The morning began in Mount Pleasant, where Allison and her bridesmaids got ready together. Allison wore a delicate white lace robe, while her bridesmaids coordinated beautifully in cream robes with pink and red floral prints. Her flower girls looked sweet in light pink, and her mother stood out in a striking red robe, pulling the whole look together.
Before slipping into her gown, Allison popped a bottle of champagne on the porch, and we captured some of my favorite fun, candid photos of the morning. Her mother then helped her into her dress, a timeless and elegant gown that perfectly suited the day. One of the sweetest moments came when Allison shared a first look with her father on that same porch. His proud and excited expression revealed how special these quiet family moments are on a wedding day.
Meanwhile, Brandon was across town getting ready with his groomsmen. The guys kept the morning lighthearted, but you could feel the anticipation building.
Allison and Brandon chose to share a first look before heading to the venue, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. We met in the picturesque Ion neighborhood of Mount Pleasant, where a charming pond created the dreamiest backdrop. When Brandon turned around to see Allison for the first time, he was completely awe-struck. And Allison was equally excited to see all the thoughtful details Brandon had put into his look, including his sleek Louboutins.
Their portraits at Ion are some of my favorites. These two looked so classic and elegant, and we captured so many portraits before the first drops of rain began to fall.
Once we arrived at Cannon Green, we took advantage of the venue’s stunning spaces for more portraits. Lush greenery and florals adorned the grand staircase, creating a breathtaking backdrop for Allison and Brandon’s photos.
The wedding party gathered out front for group portraits, and it couldn’t have been a more stylish crew. The bridesmaids wore elegant terracotta gowns, a perfect nod to the fall season, while the groomsmen kept it classic in navy suits. Together with the florals, the palette felt both timeless and seasonally chic.
Cannon Green’s courtyard is one of the most romantic ceremony locations in Charleston, and Allison and Brandon’s celebration was no exception. Their florist added florals to the existing ivy-covered pergola, creating a natural and whimsical ceremony arch. By the time guests were seated, the rain had lifted, leaving behind a soft overcast glow that made the courtyard feel even more intimate.
Surrounded by their closest family and friends, Allison and Brandon exchanged vows. The ceremony was intimate and meaningful, surrounded by much love and joy.
Following the ceremony, guests moved inside to Cannon Green’s reception space, where subtle fall details decorated the room. Seasonal touches styled the tables, delicate floral patterns adorned the napkins, and even the cake reflected the autumn-inspired design. It all came together beautifully, thanks to their fabulous wedding planner, Erica with Peper Events.
The evening unfolded with heartfelt speeches, a delicious dinner, and plenty of laughter. Allison later changed into an adorable lace reception dress with long sleeves. She and Brandon shared a romantic dance under the café lights in the courtyard, a moment that felt straight out of a movie.
As the night drew to a close, guests gathered with bubbles in hand for a joyful send-off. Allison and Brandon exited in a classic 1960 Corvette, a picture-perfect exit to an already incredible day.
This wedding at Cannon Green was a true reflection of Allison and Brandon. I felt so honored to capture every detail of their celebration, from the quiet first look to the lively dance floor.
