An oak tree by the water next to a historic home is the epitome of a classic Charleston wedding. I was pleased to work alongside Hill & Co Creative for Hattie and Bill’s Lowndes Grove Charleston wedding! Although rain was predicted for the day, the sun peeked through, and the skies cleared as they began a lifetime together.
Bill and Hattie met while they were at a bar. Bill proposed at the same bar they met after dating for a while and knew they wanted to be together forever!
Their waterfront ceremony was beautifully decorated, with two significant floral statements at the beginning of the aisle. A string quartet played while everyone walked down the aisle. As soon as Bill saw his soon-to-be wife, his smile grew wide. After a sweet ceremony, a choir sang beautifully during the processional.
The weather was a little cool, so Bill and Hattie appreciated how quickly I worked to get all of the images they wanted. There are so many unique spots for Lowndes Grove wedding photos. From the waterfront dock, the historic home, and the live oaks, I was obsessed with how their photos turned out.
The best kind of family tradition is one that is carried on from generation to generation. The cake knife they used for cutting has been a lovely family tradition. Each couple engraves their names and anniversary date onto the knife, and it was incredible looking at all of the couples who have used it. Their wedding reception was meticulously planned. Hand-drawn designs of Lowndes Grove and the couple with their wedding date were on the coozies that guests received.
The live band had the dance floor completely packed, and everyone was having a fun time! An old vintage car was waiting at the end of a tunnel of sparklers for Hattie and Bill. It was such a classic way to leave their fantastic wedding day. Check out some of my favorites from their Lowndes Grove Charleston wedding!
Charleston is full of Southern hospitality, which makes it great for a destination wedding city. There are so many incredible Charleston wedding venues that you can choose from, but you have to check out Lowndes Grove!
My biggest tip when planning a Charleston destination wedding is to hire a wedding planner. This will be one of the best decisions you make in your planning journey. I’ve worked with Hill & Co Creative on multiple occasions, and their planned weddings are extraordinary. They go above and beyond for their couples, and on the day of the wedding, they’re easy to work with, and together we make sure the wedding day timeline stays on track.
If you and your guests are coming in from out of town, there are many incredible places to stay, play, and eat! It’s easy to fly in and out of Charleston airport, there are many hotels and Airbnb’s, and there are so many fun activities and beaches to check out. I’m always able to send over any recommendations you need!
I’d love to chat with you about your wedding plans and your love story! To learn more about my wedding photography packages, you can fill out my contact form, and I’ll be in touch with you.
