Samantha and Heath’s Magnolia Plantation Carriage House wedding was perfectly classy, with such a fun celebration at their reception.
These two met thanks to a few of the members of their wedding party! They all would hang out together while attending Clemson University. After going on a few dates, they began dating. Samantha was doing a rotation for pharmacy school in Atlanta, and Heath had asked her to visit him in Charleston one weekend. It took lots of convincing, and once she found out he had bought them tickets to a Lumineers concert, she decided to go. Little did she know that he had much bigger plans for them; he was going to propose! Before the show, they grabbed a bite to eat and then headed to the beach to take a walk. Once they were on the beach, he got down on one knee, and his friend was behind them, taking pictures of the whole moment!
Spring had begun to bloom in Charleston, and we got so lucky with beautiful blooms for their wedding. Samantha and her bridesmaids wore the cutest matching pajamas in the morning while getting ready. Once her wedding dress was on, she went outside to share an emotional first look with her father. It was such a precious moment as he admired how beautiful she looked.
Next up was a first look between the soon-to-be newlyweds. They were so excited to see one another and take in this moment. Working alongside Ashleigh with Everything After the Ring was such a joy. Due to our close working relationship on the day of the wedding, we were able to adhere to the timeline smoothly. Since I have photographed weddings at Magnolia, I know where all the fantastic photo locations are. The property is a large area, and with only a short amount of time for photos, it made it easy on all of us to navigate to the places we wanted.
Several family members and friends gave the sweetest yet funniest toasts during their reception. The genuine laughter from Heath and Samantha was so fun to capture. I could tell throughout the day how much their family and friends meant to them. Heath’s brother became a dad the night before the wedding, yet he still showed up on the wedding day to be there for his brother.
The Clemson Tiger mascot joined the reception once open dancing started, and it was an absolute blast! While everyone danced the evening away with their foam glow sticks, their live wedding painter finished the painting of Samantha and Heath. Watching her image come to life was so cool. As the night ended, while their guests created a tunnel of love with sparklers, Heath and Samantha shared a private last dance.
Congratulations to the newlyweds! Enjoy scrolling through some of my favorites from their Magnolia Plantation Carriage House wedding.
“EMMA IS THE BEST!!! I can’t get over how amazing the pictures from our wedding turned out! Emma and her team are the absolute best. They make the day so easy and fun and were extremely efficient. Emma is very easy to get in contact with, and she delivers sneak peeks so fast! She is truly the best, and I am so thankful I had her to capture my perfect day!”
You can never go wrong with getting married during the spring in Charleston. All of the beautiful blooming flowers and trees make it simply stunning. One of the best bonuses is that the weather is usually decent and not too hot. I photographed Diane and Mike’s wedding at The Veranda at Magnolia in the springtime, and you’ll have to check it out!
