Fall is right around the corner, and I thought this would be the perfect time to chat about my Charleston Fall Wedding Guide!
If you’re planning a Charleston wedding and are thinking of having it in the fall, here are a few things to keep in mind! The month of October is one of the busiest for weddings in Charleston. Many vendors book twelve to eighteen months in advance, depending on the season. When you have dream wedding vendors you want to work with, don’t hesitate to book them as soon as you have a date! It never hurts to ask vendors about their availability on Fridays and Sundays since these are less common dates.
Fall weddings can bring a different color palette than summer weddings. Often I see couples incorporating fun patterns, different foods, and fall-themed signature drinks. Allyson and her bridesmaids wore these adorable matching plaid getting-ready shirts. A small item like these getting-ready shirts is a great way to incorporate a fall color or pattern without overwhelming the look!
Signature drinks are always fun, especially when you customize them to be named after you or your furry friends! Incorporating a signature drink at your fall wedding would impress your guests. If you need some ideas, check out this article!
The weather is one element you shouldn’t forget when planning your Charleston wedding. Starting in the fall, it finally starts cooling off. Don’t get me wrong, it can still be really hot in Charleston, but it’s not unbearable like the summer months. Since it’s not as hot, the gnats and mosquitos aren’t nearly as bad, which means fewer bug annoyances.
A takeaway from my Charleston Fall wedding guide is that you should consider investing in wedding insurance. If you’re not from Charleston and planning a destination wedding in the fall, you might not realize that it’s hurricane season! While it isn’t a reason not to have your dream wedding in the fall, it is still something to keep in mind. In case something unexpected pops up, wedding insurance would be a lifesaver!
While spring and summer bring the pretty, colorful flowers, fall time is still beautiful! The grass is still green, but the closer it gets to the middle of November, it becomes dormant. In October, the weather will be cooler, the lawns will still be green, and the trees will still have their leaves.
One thing that often gets overlooked is when the sun sets. It’s important to remember that in November, we’ll move the clocks ahead, so the sunset glow is earlier in the evening. This is a topic that your wedding photographer will be able to help with as you work together to create your wedding day timeline.
I love assisting my couples and giving them Charleston wedding tips so that they have the perfect wedding! It always brings me such joy to see how unique each Charleston wedding is during fall, even though it’s a hectic season. I hope you found this blog post helpful if you’re planning a Charleston wedding!
