Ashley and Daniel’s wedding at Lovegrove Estate in Summerville consisted of many fun features and traditions!
These two met through mutual friends at work while they were in Texas. When I heard their proposal story, I knew they would be an incredible couple! While taking a cruise to Antarctica, Daniel asked Ashley to marry him. Sounds amazing!
Daniel and Ashley decided to share a first look before the festivities started. This moment was so romantic, as they did it differently than usual. A main staircase splits into two, leading you to the estate. As they both walked down the separate staircase at once, Daniel was overcome with emotion when they took that last step together and were able to turn towards one another.
Ashley wanted to make sure her Korean culture and traditions were incorporated. A traditional American wedding ceremony was the first occasion when they wore their wedding outfits. Her bridesmaids all wore the same style of dress in different colors. Standing beside Ashley, their dresses looked like ombre colors, matching her desired look! Everything was so colorful, with a modern white arch filled with red and pink florals, almost resembling the girls’ dresses.
Following the American ceremony, the two changed into traditional Korean clothing in a second outfit change. Witnessing the Korean ceremony was a very special experience. I love learning more about other wedding traditions within different cultures. Daniel and Ashley each wore a hanbok, traditional Korean formal clothing. They wore symbolic colors; Ashley wore a red hanbok, and Daniel wore blue. These two colors match the Korean flag’s center, representing the balance of complementary entities. They had a unity ceremony called Hapgeunrye, where they shared a drink from separate cups.
They used a gorgeous white tent for their reception space, and the decor enhanced it beautifully! It was illuminated with string lights and crane streamers, and Ashley used some of her traditional decor, including their wedding cake.
A hot air balloon was available for guests to enjoy throughout the evening. They took a ride in it for their grand introduction to the reception and waved down to all their guests. They changed one last time before the reception to feel more relaxed and ready to enjoy the dance floor with their friends and family.
Fireworks ended their wedding day, making it even more special. All of their guests enjoyed watching the fireworks show, which added an extra wow factor to their day. These two dreamt of what they wanted their wedding to look like, and because of their wedding planner, KG Weddings & Events, she made their dreams a reality! That’s the beauty of hiring a fantastic planner who you fully trust. I am all about my couples truly having the wedding they want, even if that means going outside the box!
