Alex and Nick, a couple whose love story began back in high school, recently had a gorgeous wedding at Old Wide Awake. From their flowers, the weather, and most importantly, the newlyweds, I was utterly obsessed with everything from this day!

This adorable couple’s love story is a true testament to the power of young love. They met through a mutual friend during their sophomore year of high school. As they went on separate journeys to college, their love only grew stronger. After being together for twelve years, Nick decided it was time to propose. In the bustling city of Chicago, surrounded by the breathtaking skyline, Nick proposed on the rooftop of The London House. Alex, of course, said yes, and they celebrated that evening with friends!

Fast forward to the wedding day, and I couldn’t have been more excited to participate in their special celebration at Old Wide Awake. The venue was an absolute dream, nestled amidst natural beauty, charming architecture, and an elegant ambiance.

Spring Charleston Wedding Inspiration

Alex and her bridesmaids wore matching getting-ready robes the morning of the wedding. Laughter and chatter filled the room as they eagerly prepared for the best day of her life. Once she was ready, it was time for the much-anticipated first look. Emotions ran high as Nick turned around, and they locked eyes. We were able to capture all of the wedding photos before the ceremony, which allowed us to make the most of the beautiful light and scenery but also gave them extra images.

The attention to detail on their wedding day was unbelievable. Their elegant light purple invitations gave the event an air of sophistication, while their vibrant and colorful bouquet captured the eye. Everything reflected the couple’s personalities and love story.

They said their vows on the front porch steps of Old Wide Awake, and it’s such a beautiful setting that exudes a true Lowcountry wedding. The sweet gleaming smiles at one another are some of my favorite moments through the ceremony. These two have waited since they were fifteen to become husband and wife!

The energy and excitement at their reception were the absolute best, and it came alive through their video! They had a fun celebration from the couple’s first dance, the heartfelt toasts, and the delightful open dance floor. As the night drew to a close, their sparkler exit was unforgettable.
