A February celebration like Carly and Cole’s is always a favorite of mine, and these William Aiken House wedding photos feel especially timeless from beginning to end. There’s something about this historic Charleston venue that I just love. The architecture is quite elegant, creating the perfect backdrop for a day that feels both refined and completely personal. From a relaxed morning of getting ready to a lively dance floor under the stars, every part of their wedding day unfolded in such a natural and joyful way.
The morning of their wedding was spent intentionally, which is always one of my favorite ways to begin documenting a day. Carly got ready upstairs, surrounded by her closest friends. While she didn’t have a formal bridal party, the room still felt full of energy and excitement. Everyone wore pajamas, but Carly’s were especially memorable, a bold black-and-white checkered print with tigers and florals that felt stylish and completely her.
We spent time capturing photos of everyone together before transitioning to Carly getting into her dress. The space at the William Aiken House always photographs beautifully in the afternoon light, creating such an inviting atmosphere.
Once she was ready, Carly shared a first look with her father downstairs. It was such a sweet, emotional moment, one of those pauses in the day where everything slows down for just a second.
Meanwhile, Cole spent the morning in the groom’s suite at the William Aiken House, getting ready for the day with a quiet sense of anticipation.

Once they were both ready, we stepped outside the William Aiken House for their first look.
Seeing each other for the first time, they immediately lit up with big smiles, laughter, and the kind of embrace that says everything without needing words. Afterward, they took a few moments to read what they had written to each other in the most unique vow books I’ve seen. The covers were a rich green velvet, personalized with their wedding date and “to Carly” and “to Cole.” It was a thoughtful detail and a perfect reflection of their style.
We then moved on to bride-and-groom portraits around the property. Photographing William Aiken House wedding photos never gets old; the mix of textures, soft light, and classic Charleston charm always delivers something special. Carly’s bouquet tied everything together beautifully, with a romantic, organic garden style. The loose, asymmetrical design and moody tones felt perfect for a February wedding, still wintery, but with a hint of what’s to come in the spring.

Their ceremony took place in front of the carriage house, one of the property’s most iconic spots. The white brick paired with black shutters creates a striking contrast, and the added florals elevate the space in a simple, elegant way.
As Carly walked down the aisle, Cole couldn’t hold back tears. Even after sharing a first look, that moment still carried so much emotion. Their ceremony was traditional and heartfelt, keeping the focus on their commitment to one another.

One of my favorite parts of the day was seeing all the intentional details they incorporated throughout the reception. Guests found their seats using luggage tags with their names and table numbers, a creative touch that doubled as a keepsake.
The reception design felt inviting and thoughtfully detailed. Tables were adorned with florals and candlelight, and some included fruit such as grapes, pears, and pomegranates, adding texture and richness to the overall look. Guests enjoyed dinner both inside the house and out on the terrace, creating that effortless indoor-outdoor flow that makes Charleston weddings so special.
Before the evening fully kicked off, we stepped next door to the American Theater for a few portraits beneath the marquee featuring their last name. It’s always such a fun addition to William Aiken House wedding photos, and it gave their gallery a uniquely personal Charleston touch.

As night fell, Carly and Cole shared their first dance, followed by parent dances, each moment filled with so much joy and support from their guests. Signature cocktails were passed around, topped with custom monogrammed drink toppers featuring their initials and wedding date, such a fun and elevated detail.
One of the most unique elements of the evening was the live wedding painter, who created portraits for guests and a larger painting of the venue. It added an interactive and artistic layer to the celebration that everyone loved.
The outside dance floor quickly filled and stayed that way all night. At one point, Carly changed into a glamorous sequined and beaded reception dress; it had a subtle Great Gatsby feel and was perfect for the evening’s energy.

From start to finish, this day was such a beautiful reflection of who Carly and Cole are together. These William Aiken House wedding photos capture not only the venue’s elegance but also the personality, joy, and intention they brought to every moment. It was truly a celebration to remember.
