On a lovely spring day, the sweetest couple, Erika and Joseph, had their wedding at The River House at Lowndes Grove!
It was love at first sight with these two! They met at a fun beach bar in California and instantly hit it off! Joseph proposed in the perfect setting as they were taking a walk with their Labradoodle, Maple. When they were standing on a dock overlooking the marsh, he popped the question! Erika found me on Instagram, and we took their engagement photos around downtown Charleston. She was so obsessed with those images that she booked me as her Charleston wedding photographer! Here are just a few of their engagement photos in Charleston. I mean, how cute are they?!
This Charleston wedding venue has the most beautiful southern charm. Since many of their friends and family traveled out of town for the wedding, they were thrilled to have all their loved ones here! Lowndes Grove River House has some of the prettiest scenery around the property. There are centuries-old oak trees on the grounds that make for beautiful backdrops for your ceremony and the reception. You also have a lovely view of the Ashley River!
As soon as Erika shared her bridal details with me, I knew this day would be perfect! All of her details were simply stunning. Their wedding invitation suite was on point with a Charleston wedding. There was a map with the main streets, important attractions in Charleston, and information about the wedding activities.
Erika and her bridesmaids wore the cutest matching pajamas in the morning while they got ready. Before she stepped into her wedding dress, she popped a bottle of champagne, and all the girls enjoyed a glass before all the excitement started. Erin and her father had the sweetest first look. They both got very emotional; it was such a touching moment.
Once arriving at the venue, we got Joseph in place for him and Erika to share a first look. The look on their faces when he turned around was priceless! The wedding photos we took of them were just so amazing. We managed to sneak out to the boardwalk overlooking the river and capture sunset photos. They were super excited about these images!
They had the loveliest ceremony set up. When choosing such a stunning wedding venue, it’s best to let the scenery be your main focus. At the beginning of the aisle, they had two large floral statements in the most elegant-looking vases.
An outdoor reception lets them and their guests enjoy al fresco dining under cafe lights. Each table had a floral centerpiece using soft shades of blues and creams, the perfect color palette for a spring wedding!
Both Erika and Joseph have the sweetest families! They were accommodating and had the best time in Charleston for these two love birds’ weddings. A few weeks from now, I will be taking family photos of Erika’s sister. It will be so great to see some of the family!
