It was a hot summer day for Ali and Stefan’s Luxury Lowndes Grove Wedding!
Their special day was filled with love, relaxation, and celebratory feelings. Stefan and Ali had previously gotten married in 2020 after having to postpone. They were so excited to finally have their friends and family come together to celebrate their marriage!
Lowndes Grove is a waterfront venue in Charleston, South Carolina. You’ll find this stunning location surrounded by oak trees at the Charleston peninsula on the Ashley River. This venue is the last estate of this kind in the downtown area and is recognized on the National Register for Historic Places. A picturesque backdrop of the main house can be seen from the grand lawn of this historical estate. The main home features 1786-period design and furnishings, allowing for a dignified, casual, or exuberant vibe for your wedding. This prime location includes a formal dining room, a glass-enclosed portico, a 750-square-foot piazza, a three-story spiral staircase, and multiple spaces for your big day. There are river views, wooded areas, and a lush garden for all your picture-perfect moments.
The day started with photographing the most beautiful details, including their invitation suite. Ali and her bridesmaids popped a bottle of champagne while they were in their getting-ready robes. Once she was in her wedding gown, we did a big reveal for her girls, and their reactions were adorable! Afterward, she shared a first look with her father and gave him his favorite bottle of bourbon.
Before the day officially kicked off with the hustle and bustle, both Ali and Stefan’s dads shared a glass of bourbon with all of the men. Little did Stefan know that he was about to get pranked by one of his groomsmen. I had gotten him in place for what he thought was the first look with Ali, but in reality, his groomsmen put on a white robe and veil and surprised him instead! It was so funny to see his reaction when he turned around!
Ali had a stunningly unique bridal look. She wore her hair in a high bubble ponytail adorned with pearl scrunchies at each section and adorned a gorgeous sleeveless, square neckline wedding gown with an open back and flowing train. Stefan wore a classic black tux with a bowtie.
Their wedding photos at Lowndes Grove are some of my absolute favorites. They had an old vintage car with which we took some portraits that elevated their photos. We had the most beautiful sunset in the evening. The way Lowndes Grove looks in the background of their wedding photos is so dreamy! We, of course, had to end their wedding photos on the long pier on the property.
Ali and Stefan hired the best wedding planners ever in Charleston! I love working aside Hill and Co Creative on wedding days. Whenever my couples have them as their planners, I instantly know that their wedding day will be beautiful and run smoothly! Hill and Co Creative successfully helped make their wedding inspiration turn into reality.
Their reception had a coastal vibe, keeping it classy and black-tie without being over the top. Hints of light blue looked terrific against the natural color of the chairs and table decor. It was a total Charleston vibe.
In an adorable vintage Volkswagen bus, guests arrived in fashion at the Charleston wedding venue. It was so enjoyable seeing Stefan and Ali’s friends and family finally come together to celebrate with them! Everyone enjoyed a fantastic dinner and danced away until the end of the evening. Someone brought out a Penn State flag at one point, and we, of course, had to take a group photo of everyone who had attended Penn State.
I loved being part of their wedding celebration after years of waiting. Here are my favorites from Stefan and Ali’s Lowndes Grove Wedding!
