If you’re dreaming about a beautiful coastal wedding venue that feels elegant, relaxed, and customizable all at the same time, then a Daniel Island Club wedding might be exactly what you’re looking for. Located just outside of downtown Charleston, this golf club venue combines stunning marsh views, incredible service, and versatile event spaces that truly allow couples to bring their wedding vision to life. Between the gorgeous outdoor ceremony space, the spacious ballroom overlooking the marsh, and the flexibility to create a wedding that feels completely unique to you, it’s easy to see why so many couples fall in love with this venue.
What makes Daniel Island Club so special is the balance between luxury and the coastal beauty of Charleston. The marsh views, classic golf club setting, and customizable event spaces create such an incredible backdrop for a wedding day that feels elegant, romantic, and completely tailored to each couple’s vision.
And while you’re only about 20 minutes from downtown Charleston, the venue feels tucked away from the busier parts of the city. It gives couples and guests the chance to fully settle into the wedding experience without feeling rushed or crowded.

One of the biggest things that makes Daniel Island Club weddings stand out is the venue’s true customization. Rather than forcing couples into one specific style or layout, the venue really embraces the idea of being a blank slate. Rather than feeling like a one-size-fits-all venue, Daniel Island Club gives couples the flexibility to create a wedding day that feels distinctly their own.
Whether your vision includes soft neutral florals, colorful statement installations, romantic candlelit tablescapes, or a fully tented outdoor reception, this venue gives you the flexibility to make it happen. Since the ballroom serves more as a blank slate, couples can personalize the space with thoughtful details that reflect their wedding vision, whether that means elevated florals, custom linens, candlelit tablescapes, or upgraded rentals.
The staff also does such an amazing job throughout the planning process and on the wedding day itself. Their service is truly top-tier, and they work hard to create a seamless experience for both couples and guests. Having a venue team that genuinely cares about the experience makes such a difference during wedding planning, and Daniel Island Club really excels in that area.

There are so many reasons couples love getting married here, but a few highlights stand out:
One of my favorite things about photographing weddings here is the variety throughout the property. You can capture elegant portraits near the marsh, classic golf club photos near the course, and romantic sunset portraits all within the same venue. The lighting here in the evening is especially beautiful.

The ceremony space at Daniel Island Club is honestly one of the prettiest parts of the property. As soon as you step outside the venue, you’re greeted with a large open lawn overlooking the marsh. It creates a peaceful, scenic backdrop for exchanging vows.
The lawn itself gives couples plenty of room to design the ceremony layout however they’d like, whether that means rows of traditional seating, a floral-lined aisle, statement arches, or elevated floral installations surrounding the ceremony space. Even with minimal decor, the marsh views behind you already create such a naturally beautiful setting.
One thing I love about this ceremony space is how open and versatile it feels. Whether you’re inviting 75 guests or 300 guests, the area still feels spacious and comfortable without feeling overcrowded.
When it comes to the reception, couples have the best of both worlds: they can choose an indoor or outdoor setup.

Inside the venue, the ballroom is large, elegant, and filled with natural light. One entire side of the ballroom is lined with large windows overlooking the marsh, so you still get beautiful views even during an indoor reception. It keeps the space feeling bright, open, and connected to the coastal surroundings throughout the evening.

If you’re envisioning an outdoor reception instead, the lawn behind the venue works beautifully for that as well. You can host cocktail hour outside, overlooking the marsh, create an al fresco reception beneath the stars, or even bring in a tent for a tented reception. And honestly, there’s just something so timeless and romantic about a tented wedding reception in the Lowcountry.
One thing that makes this venue especially nice for couples planning an outdoor ceremony and ballroom reception is the built-in flexibility if weather becomes a concern. If rain shows up on your wedding day, the ballroom can easily transition into an indoor ceremony space before flowing right into the reception. Having that kind of backup plan already in place can bring so much peace of mind during wedding planning.

Daniel Island Club offers an on-site getting-ready suite for couples to use throughout the wedding day. The getting-ready space itself is a bit simpler and more traditional compared to some of the larger luxury bridal suites you may see at standalone wedding venues, but it’s still convenient to have a space directly on-site.
That being said, both weddings I’ve photographed here actually chose to get ready off-site instead. One thing that makes Daniel Island such a great location is the many beautiful nearby Airbnb options that work perfectly for wedding mornings.
Renting a larger home nearby can give you a lot more space for hair and makeup, getting dressed, relaxing with your wedding party, and spending the morning together without feeling cramped.
The venue’s website also mentions three on-site cottages. While I’m not completely sure about availability for wedding party accommodations, it’s definitely worth asking the venue team if you’re interested in keeping more of your wedding weekend on the property itself.
Planning a Daniel Island Club wedding means that the venue provides in-house food and beverage services. Having catering and bar services handled directly through the venue can simplify so many moving pieces during the planning process.
Whether you’re envisioning passed hors d’oeuvres during cocktail hour, a plated dinner, late-night snacks, or custom signature cocktails inspired by the two of you, their team works closely with couples to create a dining experience that fits the overall feel of the wedding day.
And honestly, great food and drinks always make such a difference for guests. It’s one of those parts of the wedding experience that people remember long after the day is over.

At this time, Daniel Island Club does not publicly list wedding pricing on its website. If you’re interested in hosting your wedding here, you’ll need to reach out directly through their contact form to request more information about pricing, availability, and wedding packages.

I truly think this venue is such a wonderful fit for couples who love the golf club atmosphere but still want that classic Charleston coastal feel woven into their wedding day.
The combination of marsh views, golf course scenery, customizable event spaces, and flexible indoor and outdoor options makes this venue feel incredibly versatile. Whether you’re planning a more traditional ballroom reception or dreaming about a tented reception under the stars, there’s so much room to create a wedding day that feels completely personal to you.

I also love that you can get such a variety of wedding photos here. Between the marsh, the golf course, sunset portraits, and the elegant reception spaces, there are endless opportunities for timeless imagery throughout the entire wedding day.
And from a planning standpoint, having strong indoor backup options is such a huge advantage. Charleston weather can always be unpredictable, so having a venue that can seamlessly pivot if needed removes so much unnecessary stress from the day.
