A November wedding at The Gadsden House is always something special, but Stephanie and Zach’s day felt especially magical from beginning to end. The weather was dreamy, the colors were perfect, the people were truly the best, and the party was one for the books. From getting ready in the light-filled suites to their joyful bubble exit, every moment unfolded beautifully within the timeless walls of The Gadsden House (which may or may not be my favorite wedding venue in Charleston). It was such a joy working alongside Erica with Peper Events to bring this celebration to life.
One of the many reasons I love photographing weddings at The Gadsden House is the getting-ready experience. The space is open, bright, and intentionally designed so no one feels cramped, which makes the entire morning feel relaxed and enjoyable.
Stephanie and her bridesmaids started the day in matching pajamas, which made for the sweetest photos. We captured a few fun portraits before they popped a bottle of champagne out on the covered porch. The soft November light paired with their laughter created such a joyful start to the day. Meanwhile, Zach and his groomsmen were just steps away in the groom’s lounge, hanging out, getting ready, and soaking in the anticipation.

Zach and Stephanie chose to share their first look inside The Gadsden House, and it was such a beautiful moment. Stephanie made her way down the staircase, and as Zach turned, his expression said it all. They shared a quiet embrace, laughed together, and took a moment to let it all sink in.
Afterward, we walked just a few steps to Zero George for their bride-and-groom portraits. The white brick building with its soft blue shutters always photographs beautifully and complements weddings at The Gadsden House perfectly. Against that classic Charleston backdrop, Stephanie looked stunning in her gown, and Zach was timeless in his black tuxedo.
We then gathered their wedding party, a large and incredibly fun group of friends. The bridesmaids wore rich brown espresso dresses that felt so fitting for a fall wedding, paired with white florals and greenery. The groomsmen’s black tuxedos added a classic contrast. There’s something so special about being surrounded by a big group of people who are fully celebrating you, and their energy made this part of the day so much fun.

The courtyard ceremony at The Gadsden House was elegant in its simplicity. Two white pedestal blocks stood at the front, each topped with urns filled with white florals, greenery, and hints of brown magnolia leaves. Guests sat in wooden X-back chairs and were welcomed with glasses of champagne as a string trio played softly in the background.
Stephanie’s father walked her down the aisle and officiated the ceremony, making the moment even more meaningful. You could feel the emotion as he spoke, a beautiful blend of love and blessing over their marriage.
The November air was crisp but comfortable, and the courtyard felt intimate and serene as they exchanged vows. It was heartfelt and personal, the kind of ceremony that reminds you what the day is truly about.

One thing I truly love about The Gadsden House is how intentional each space feels. The very courtyard where they said “I do” was seamlessly transformed into their reception space for dinner, while the opposite side became the designated dance floor. The Southern piazzas were perfect for cocktail hour, along with the indoor bar area, creating a natural indoor-outdoor flow that guests always enjoy.
The tablescape was stunning. Each place setting featured a white and green floral charger, an oyster shell with each guest’s name delicately inscribed, glowing candles, and bud vases filled with fresh blooms. It felt refined yet warm, elegant but inviting.
During cocktail hour, guests enjoyed passed hors d’oeuvres and signature cocktails before gathering near the dance floor for Stephanie and Zach’s grand introduction. They flowed straight into their first dance, followed by sweet parent dances that had everyone smiling.

As the dance floor opened, Stephanie changed into the cutest short white dress, the perfect party look. They shared a more private cake cutting inside and toasted with champagne.
Once the dance floor opened, it stayed packed. Their live band kept the energy high all night long. Foam glow sticks appeared, cowboy hats made their way onto the dance floor, and a few guests proudly wore hats that read “party time.” The joy was contagious, and it was impossible not to smile watching everyone celebrate them so wholeheartedly.
To end the night, guests lined up for a glowing bubble exit as Stephanie and Zach made their way through cheers and laughter, the perfect ending to a truly unforgettable November wedding at The Gadsden House.
